We are currently accepting dasher sign ups for cars. Please bring your photo ID to one of the local offices listed below to complete your background check and dasher orientation. Please note that we do not accept provisional licenses or permits.

Dashing is what you make of it. You’re an independent contractor, which means you get to be your own boss. Dash when and where it works for you. Dash for a living or for a goal, all on your schedule and your terms.

Know someone who'd make a great dasher? You can now send your friends and family in-app invitations to apply to DoorDash! If the referred dasher completes 50+ deliveries within 30 days of applying, both of you will receive cash bonuses. We're always looking for new dashers, so spread the word!

Orientations begin on the hour. Please be prompt, as arriving late will result in you waiting until the next hour. Orientations for DoorDash Drive begin on the half-hour only for those invited to participate. Active Dashers who only need to purchase supplies or pick up a new Red Card can arrive at any time, but please be patient and non-disruptive if there is an orientation in progress. To purchase supplies (optional for regular Dashers, mandatory for Drive Dashers), please bring a credit or debit card. No cash or checks will be accepted.

Market Operating Hours and Hotspots

Different parts of the Washington Metro Area have different operating hours. Hotspots are located where DoorDash expects an especially high-order volume. Dashers are more likely to receive an order if they are closer to the restaurant from which a customer orders. Refer to your DoorDash Dasher app for the latest!

Scheduling

You can schedule when you want to dash up to five days in advance. New dash schedules are released on a rolling five-day schedule at 10:00 AM. For example, the schedule is released on Monday morning is for the following Saturday. 

However, you also have the option to “Dash Now” if there are remaining spots available, or if an area is particularly busy. Pro tip: Maximize earnings by dashing at peak meal times. Lunch: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Dinner 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

Dasher Pay

Regular Deliveries
Dashers are paid per order. Pay can vary based on the time, distance, and complexity of an order. For instance, a 5 mile order will usually pay more than a 2 mile order. We do our best to ensure that dashers are paid fairly. For more details, please see our New Dasher Pay Model FAQs

DoorDash Drive Deliveries
Drive orders are some of our most important deliveries – therefore, we only offer these opportunities to top dashers. Once you qualify, you will receive an in-app invitation, and you’ll be able to see these orders in advance. Drive orders are traditionally larger and may require more time to complete – but they also have higher associated minimum guaranteed earnings. For more information on DoorDash Drive, click here.

What if I have an issue or run into a problem with an order while on a dash? 
Support is available both in the Dasher app during a dash as well as on the web at doordash.com/help. 

My app isn't working, what do I do? 
Please make sure you are on the latest version of the app, which can be found in the Google Play Store (Android) or at this link (iOS). Once you confirm the app is updated, restart your phone and log back in.  If you are still having issues, please visit doordash.com/help to submit a support request.

Do I have to wear my DoorDash t-shirt or use any DoorDash supplies?
While we do not require you to wear your red DoorDash shirt or use a hot bag/blanket, certain restaurants may require that you do so. This will typically be indicated in the instructions for each order, if applicable. Keep in mind, merchants have the right to refuse a pickup if you do not have the necessary supplies – and it never hurts to be over-prepared! Wearing your DoorDash shirt also makes you more identifiable to the restaurant and to the customer, which allows you to complete deliveries faster. Faster deliveries = more deliveries = MORE $$$!
